Healthcare and Care in Norrtälje (KSON) is a unique collaboration between Norrtälje Municipality and Region Stockholm. The mission is to meet the health and care needs of the residents. KSON thus has unique conditions to seamlessly meet the residents' needs for effective comprehensive solutions and is governed by a board with elected representatives from Region Stockholm and Norrtälje Municipality.

A part of the Norrtälje model. The Municipal Association for Healthcare and Care (KSON) is facing an exciting transformation to meet the requirements set by the new Social Services Act. KSON began the transformation work towards a sustainable social service already in the autumn of 2023. In 2024, the work was intensified with a strategic plan and a horizontal organization across departmental boundaries developed by a process leader and steering group. We therefore have broad involvement from over forty employees working in eight teams based on the focus areas identified by the new Social Services Act. The mission for these employees is to develop and implement change initiatives to enhance our social work based on the new directives of the law after decisions by the steering group.

We are looking for you

We are looking for someone who is engaged in issues regarding support for relatives and the life situations of relatives. We work proactively and preventively based on the needs of the residents. You will work closely and together with the department's three other relative consultants.

About the position

We are looking for a relative consultant to complement our team and strengthen our work for relatives regardless of age and life situation. With us, you will meet individuals who are relatives of children and adults with NPF, mental health issues, children with parents suffering from mental health issues, survivors of suicide, partners or adult children of people with dementia – and many more.

Today, the team consists of three dedicated relative consultants, which we are now expanding to four. Together, we offer individual support, groups, training, lectures, and collaboration with other organizations. We have our own premises centrally located in Norrtälje on Lilla Brogatan, which is also a meeting place where residents can come for information and guidance on what support is available in the municipality.

The activities on Lilla Brogatan provide a fantastic opportunity for the development of broad support, advice, and collaboration, to live up to the new Social Services Act – that social services should become more preventive, equal, and accessible.

Job Description

As a relative consultant, your assignment includes building relationships with both relatives and colleagues and other partners. Your tasks will include providing targeted support to relatives, individual conversations, organizing and leading discussion groups for different groups of relatives, and arranging lectures and events. Together with colleagues, you will also plan and develop the range of support for relatives.

As a relative consultant, your workdays may involve difficult conversations and life stories but also much joy and gratitude.

The position involves evening work.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another qualification that the employer deems equivalent. Experience in supportive conversations and working with people in vulnerable or changing life situations is required. Experience and training in the area of support for relatives is desirable.

You will work under a trusting leadership and therefore need to be prepared to take responsibility. You enjoy driving issues independently but are happy to bounce ideas with colleagues and supervisors along the way. We assume that you have a positive and solution-focused attitude.

About the workplace

The relative consultants are organized within KSON's Authority Department, which consists of about 75 employees, a department head, and five unit managers. The department primarily works with authority exercise supported by SoL and LSS and is also responsible for processing applications for travel and national transport services as well as implementing contact person and support family initiatives.

The vision of the Municipal Association is that the residents of Norrtälje Municipality have good health.
